Bio:

Kurt is the Chief Community And Communications Officer for Monty Program, a company founded by
Monty Widenius, the original author of MySQL. Monty Program produces MariaDB, a fully free drop-in replacement for MySQL based on forks of the GPL version of MySQL.

Prior to joining Monty Program, Kurt was a Senior Support Analyst for Canonical Ltd, the corporate sponsor of the Ubuntu project.

Kurt is also a member of the GNOME Foundation, and has deep roots in many aspects of Free and open-source software.
